The situation of the two countries is almost the same in the 12th World Cup. The two teams each won one match and one match of both the teams was abandoned. Both the teams are at the bottom of the points table with 3 points each.

Proteas have won a match against Afghanistan in their six matches so far in the World Cup. They have been defeated by England, Bangladesh, India and New Zealand. And their match with West Indies was abandoned due to rain. Besides the Proteas have been victim of injuries. The team`s best pace bowler, Dale Steyn, was rules out due to injury. Then another pacer Lungi Ngidi suffered injuries. However, the Proteas have regained their confidence after the victory against Afghanistan.

On the other hand, Pakistan team are in a very disorderly situation.  They have won only against England this time. Their match against Sri Lanka was abandoned due to rain.

Amir, who is in the 27th position in the ICC rankings, is on the third position with 13 wickets this time. He took 5 wickets in one match.
