Australia-Sri Lanka match preview
Most of the matches of Sri Lanka were abandoned due to rain. They got one victory against Afghanistan and got defeated in one match in their four matches. This one victory and bad luck put Sri Lanka on the fifth position of the points table. However, they have to face mighty Australia today.

On the other hand, current world champions Australia still hold a good position in the points table with their excellent performance. After playing four matches they earned 6 points.  England have 6 points too but hold the third place in list after lagging behind due to the net run rate. If they did not lose the game unexpectedly against India, they would have been on top of the point table.

Sri Lanka have a win and defeat in four matches so far. After getting two points from two games abandoned due to rain, the team is in fifth place on the list.

Player to watch:

David Warner:
David Warner was the centurion in the previous match and the winner of most of the best player awards of this time. Warner can be a threat for his opponents in this match also. Sri Lanka are likely to face tough challenges if they cannot out this opener early.

X-Factor

Thisara Perera:
Although Lankan didn`t get the opportunity to showcase their efficiency because of rain but Lankan allrounder Thisara Perera could be the X factor.

Possible Squad:

Australia: Aaron Finch (captain), Alex Carey (vice-captain, wicketkeeper), Pat Cummins, Nathan Coulter-Nile, Usman Khawaja, Shaun Marsh, Glenn Maxwell, Kane Richardson, Steve Smith, Mitchell Starc, David Warner.

Sri Lanka: Dimuth Karunaratne (captain), Kusal Mendis, Kusal Perera, Lahiru Thirimanne, Angelo Mathews, Dhananjaya de Silva, Thisara Perera, Isuru Udana, Jeevan Mendis, Lasith Malinga, Suranga Lakmal.
