Osaka wins first grand slam beating ‘angry’ Serena Williams

Twenty years old Japanese tennis player Naomi Osaka won her first Grand Slam title on Saturday after beating American Serena Williams 6-2, 6-4 in the women`s final of the US Open.

Osaka, 20, is the first Japanese tennis player to win a Grand Slam tournament, leaving her mark 2-0 in the clashes she has had with the best tennis women-player in the world. The new champion takes a cash prize of $ 3,800,000, while the other finalist won $ 1,850,000.

The match, which the Japanese dominated from the very beginning, was blurred by the attitude of Serena Williams, who ended up insulting seriously the referee Carlos Ramos for pointing code violation of coaching. The reaction of the former world number one exploited the final part of the match and the subsequent ceremony. The referee had to leave the stadium without attending the trophy ceremony.

"You are a thief and a liar. You owe me an apology". Serena Williams exploded during the second set of the US Open final. The match referee, Carlos Ramos sanctioned snatching a point from the American player for having received advice from his coach by breaking the code, Patrick Mouratoglou. "I do not cheat to win. I would rather lose. I`m just telling you. You have stolen me," reiterated Serena.

Serena went to the referee and continued to scold him, "You should ask me. I have a daughter, I am a mother and I do not cheat, I only do what is right. You are a thief and a liar because you have stolen a point," she said.

"I was coaching but I don`t think she looked at me, Sash (opponent’s coach) was coaching as well," said the coach of Serena Williams in his defense.

Williams then received another for a racquet smash at 3-2 in the second set, leading to Ramos docking her a point as Osaka started at 15-0 in the following game.
