The Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) renews the contract with coach Tite and Coordinator-general Edu Gaspar until the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. With this, the Brazilian Team has ensured the continuity of the project throughout the next cycle. They are already working on preparations for the next two friendlies scheduled for September 7-11 in the United States.
Tite, who has never hidden his desire to coach the national team for a complete cycle (he took over in 2016 in the midst of the World Cup qualifiers), his work has been praised by all so far, even though Brazil were eliminated from the quarter-final of the 2018 World Cup.

‘The experience of this first term has established a relationship of trust among all, which will be reflected in the next step,’ Tite said in a statement posted on CBF`s website, ‘I understand that CBF has given us the conditions to build an environment of unity and extreme professionalism and we will continue to do so. It is a great challenge and we are happy to face it, with a focus on the next games and competitions.’
For Rogério Caboclo, the CBF’s executive director of management, the renewal with Tite and Edu was a natural decision.
According to him, ‘The CBF is investing in a long-term project in guaranteeing the technical commission six-and-a-half years at the head of the Selecao.’
This was a wise move from the CBF as Tite literally guided Brazil this far. Under the previous coach Dunga, Brazil seemed to have lost their way from the beginning. With Tite’s pragmatic vision and technical knowledge, Brazil regained their recognition and gave hope to its supporters for the ‘Hexa’. However, Tite could not succeed in his mission.
But, his contract renewal tells that his mission Hexa continues.
