Mominul’s brilliance gives Bangladesh lead Mominul Haque is a Bangladeshi cricketer who plays for Dhaka Division. He is a permanent member of Bangladeshi`s Test squad and has the highest average in tests for a Bangladeshi player.

 

On the fifth day, Bangladesh are displaying a strong determination with the bat of Mominul Haque and Liton Das. They have passed the score 200 for Bangladesh without losing any wicket on the fifth day. And this partnership has also given the lead for Bangladesh. Mominul Haque, who made a magnificent century in the first innings, also scored a great century in the second innings. Liton Das also got his half-century.

After the end of play of the 4th day, Bangladesh were in a struggling situation and many thought that Bangladesh would get defeated easily. But because of such great batsmanship of Mominul and Liton, Bangladesh have now become more relieved and can make it a draw.

After the 4th day play, Bangladesh were 119 runs behind and lost the wickets of Tamim (41), Imrul Kayes (19) and Mushfiqur Rahim (2). Earlier, Sri Lanka declared their first innings at 713 for 9. Along with Kusal Mendis and Dhananjaya de Silva, Roshen Silva also got his first ever test century on the 4th day. He made 109. No Bangladeshi bowlers really shined with the ball. Though Taijul got 4 wickets, he proved to be too expensive as he gave 219 runs for his 4 wickets. Mehidy Hasan took 3 for 174 runs.
