The play of the day 4 of the first test match between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka has resumed. Sri Lanka are posing a strong reply to Bangladesh as they ended the 3rd day at 504 for 3. The batsmen of Sri Lanka are showing a terrific display of batting in Chittagong, Bangladesh. Kusal Mendis made 196 and Dhananjaya de Silva got out at 173 on the third day.
On the 4th day, Bangladesh need to restrict the Sri Lankan innings as early as possible. Though Sri Lanka are now in a better position, Bangladesh can still make a comeback. But it will surely be tough for Bangladesh. If Sri Lanka take a big lead in the innings, what Bangladesh should seek for is to manage a draw at best. Bangladesh need to make sure that Sri Lanka do not get a big lead in the first innings. The wicket may give some assistance to the spinners on the 4th day and the 5th day of the game; therefore it might be a bit difficult for the Bangladeshi batsmen to bat in the second innings. Hence, it is a big test for our bowlers on the day 4 how quickly they can take Sri Lankan 10 wickets. Otherwise, the match will gradually turn in Sri Lanka’s favor despite a brilliant show of the Bangladeshi batsmen in the first innings.
