Earlier, Bangladesh have the won the toss and opted to bat first in the first test against Sri Lanka in Chittagong, Bangladesh. Due to the injury of Shakib Al Hasan, Mahamuddlah is captaining Bangladesh. He has turned out to become the 10th test captain for Bangladesh.
The wicket is expected to assist the spinners. Considering this, Bangladesh are playing three specialized spinners. Left arm Sunzamul Islam has debuted in the test cricket. Though Abdur Razzak was called in the primary squad, Sunzamul Islam has been finally chosen by the selectors of Bangladesh cricket team. The interesting part is that Mustafizur Rahman is the only pacer for the Bangladeshi side. This makes it clear that the wicket will give assistance to the spinners to a great extent.
