Bangladesh make solid opening stand

Bangladesh have started a solid opening partnership in the first test against Sri Lanka in Chittagong, Bangladesh. Two openers for Bangladesh, Tamim Iqbal, and Imrul Kayes have made an unbeaten 50-run stand together. Both the openers are batting carefully and the wicket seems to be friendly for the batsmen.

Earlier, Bangladesh have the won the toss and opted to bat first in the first test against Sri Lanka in Chittagong, Bangladesh. Due to the injury of Shakib Al Hasan, Mahmudullah is captaining Bangladesh. He has turned out to become the 10th test captain for Bangladesh.

The wicket is expected to assist the spinners. Considering this, Bangladesh are playing three specialized spinners. Left-arm Sunzamul Islam has debuted in the test cricket. Though Abdur Razzak was called in the primary squad, Sunzamul Islam has been finally chosen by the selectors of Bangladesh cricket team. The interesting part is that Mustafizur Rahman is the only pacer for the Bangladeshi side. This makes it clear that the wicket will give assistance to the spinners to a great extent.

Sri Lanka are now more confident, having bounced back strongly to claim the title of the tri-series. Dinesh Chandimal is in a great form: he made 366 runs in three Tests in India. And the major threat for Bangladesh might be Rangana Herath, who has taken 41 wickets in his last series at an average of 22.63.
