There has not been any political pressure on the government after the December 30 elections. But many intelligence sources have found out that conspiracies are being planned daily against the government and a group is working to ruin the government’s image by calling it an authoritarian regime outside the country.
A number of intelligence agencies have submitted a list of 9 such names to the government policy makers, who have been accused of ruining government’s image by spreading propaganda at the international arena.
The list includes Dr. Muhammad Yunus, Dr. Kamal Hossain, former chief justice Surendra Kumar Sinha, Sujan editor Dr. Badiul Alam Majumder, CPD executive director Dr. Debapriya Bhattacharya, Barrister Mainul Hossain, Dr. Zafrullah Chowdhury, Daily Star editor Mahfuz Anam and TIB executive director Dr. Iftekharuzzaman.
In many sources, it is learned that in recent times, various seminars, symposiums and ceremonies are being organized to question the human rights violations in Bangladesh, press freedom of the country and the December 30 elections.
Recently, a talk show was held under Sujan’s initiative over the December 30 elections. In that discussion, the election was criticised in the question of its fairness. Dr. Kamal Hossain and Dr. Yunus are spreading these controversial discussions against the government in the outside world, especially in influential countries like the USA and the UK. It has been learned that the audion clip of such roundtable meetings has been sent to the US Senate and Congress. According to sources, at least two officials of Yunus Centre are talking with the international community regarding the December 30 elections. Their purpose is to put pressure on the government to form a judicial inquiry commission regarding the parliamentary elections of 30 December.
Dr. Kamal Hossain is also accused of sitting in regular meetings with the ambassadors of different countries who are staying in Bangladesh. He is spreading negative propaganda regarding the election among them. former Justice Surendra Kumar Sinha has also been active against the government due to being held in the corruption case filed by ACC. He is raising several allegations against the government in the United States and India. According to the sources, Surendra Kumar Sinha has written a letter to several influential people of India, raising complaints such as human rights violations against the government.
Dr. Badiul Alam Majumder is busy collecting information over the December 30 elections against the government under the supervision of Sujan. There are allegations that he is providing this information data in the international arena.
Dr. Debapriya Bhattacharya has challenged the government`s development projects. He said that the development of Bangladesh is not sustainable and the increasing discrimination is leading to various problems. Also, he mentioned about the social turmoil and violation of human rights across the country as the government’s failure.
Barrister Mainul Hossain and Dr. Zafarullah Chowdhury have also accused the government on the same ground. Mahfuz Anam is alleged of lobbying in various international organizations and media related organizations regarding the freedom of the media in Bangladesh. On the other hand, TIB is working directly to investigate the government`s various corruption cases and creating embarrassing situations for the government.
Intelligence agencies have urged the government to stay alert and take immediate initiatives against the conspirators.
