Awami Jubo League has been selected as the most active organization among the associate organizations of Awami League. Bangladesh Chhatra League has taken the second position, according to AL’s own review.
The associate organizations of AL have become weaker after being in power for a long time. AL president and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has instructed the leaders to rejuvenate the organizations. With that goal, initiatives have been taken to organize the programs of 100th anniversary of the Father of the Nation with the affiliate organizations. Sources have confirmed that, according to AL’s record, only two organizations are now performing their duties actively. There is no trace of the rest. Apart from special days and their establishment anniversaries, they are not doing any other program. Associate organizations have been recognized in accordance with Article 25A (2) of Awami League`s constitution. Here`s a total of six associate organizations which include Bangladesh Mahila Awami League, Bangladesh Krishok League, Jubo League, Swechhashebok League, Ainjibee Parishad, and Bangladesh Tanti League. Besides, there are two organizations to be run by their own constitution and they are Jatiyo Sramik League and Bangladesh Chhatra League. Only Jubo League and BCL are active among them. The other organization leaders are busy with their own works. They just participate in party activities. Even after a few days ago they were active in their own fields but have turned invisible in current days, which is quite disappointing. On the other hand, Jubo League is marked as the most active organization of AL for their party campaigns. They have continued the organization`s activities by publishing various supplements. Their presence is seen in all the party programs of AL. Then comes BCL. Although BCL’s duty is not very different from Jubo League, BCL is accused of internal disputes, collision and division among them. In recent days BCL is being criticized more than being appreciated. AL president has warned the leaders that she would take stern action if the party’s image is ruined because of them before the nation. Once upon a time Swechhashebok League was the most active organization of AL. But their activity is invisible through past one year. When Ivy Rahman was the president of Bangladesh Mahila Awami League, the organization worked spontaneously under her leadership. Now a big part of the organization has become inactive. Ainjibi Parishad had divided and started their work as Bangabandhu Ainjibi Parishad and now again internal dispute is seen among them. The lawyers of this organization do not agree with each other. Although, an initiative is taken to unite them, they are not performing any duties for the party. Bangladesh Tanti League and Sramik League are going through the same situation. Now initiative has been taken to revivify these organizations. The organizations are instructed to organize various programs separately following the central program of AL on the occasion of the 100th birth anniversary of the Father of the Nation. The general secretary has been instructed specially by the president to take the immediate steps to resolve this crisis. It is hoped that soon the associate organizations will be seen in a rejuvenated form.
