Heavyweights excluded from Supreme Court also

Awami League has finalized the panel on the election of Supreme Court Bar Association. The party managed to surprise everyone like they did in 11th parliamentary election, reserved women seats nomination and upazila nomination. Heavyweights were excluded from the Supreme Court Bar Association also. Awami League has introduced fresh face here too. The party nominated AM Aminuddin for president post and Md Abdun Nur Dulal for general secretary post in Supreme Court Bar Association election.

There are internal conflict and dispute among Awami League-backed lawyers in Supreme Court for the past several years. As a result, BNP lawyers are ruling the Supreme Court Bar Association. BNP panel managed to repeat their victory here. They take advantage of the internal conflict of Awami League.

But this time Awami League is determined to overcome the conflict. The party wants to free Supreme Court from BNP`s influence after winning the election. And that is why the heavyweights, who have been involved in dispute, have been excluded. Relatively young AM Aminuddin has been selected for president post apart from senior leaders like Baset Majumdar, Yusuf Hossain Humayun, Abdul Matin Khasru, Mejbah Ahmed and Barrister Amirul Islam. Aminuddin started his career under the present Attorney General Mahbubey Alam. He was once elected as the secretary of the Supreme Court Bar Association.
