Those who have decided to contest in the 11th parliamentary election as rebel candidates despite getting the warning of expulsion have been expelled from Awami League. In continuation of the announcement, three AL lawmakers of the current parliament have fallen victim to this.
Reliable sources said AL might expel three current members of parliament (MPs) M.A. Awal, Shirajul Islam Mollah, and Mokbul Hossain.
AL could not keep confidence in Pirojpur-1 MP M.A. Awal. SM Rezaul Karim was nominated from this constituency. However, Awal did not withdraw his candidacy.
MP Shirajul Islam Mollah did not get the nomination from the Narsingdi-3 constituency. Zahirul Haque Bhuiyan Mohan was nominated instead of Shirajul. So far, Shirajul has not withdrawn his candidacy.
Meanwhile, Shahiduzzaman Khokon will lead the campaign in the Meherpur-2 constituency. Although he did not get nomination, he is running an election campaign in his area.
If the three MPs do not withdraw their nomination papers in the next 48 hours, they will be expelled from the party.
