Trump invites Imran Khan to stay at White House

Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan is going to visit the United States on July 21. US President Donald Trump has invited Imran to stay at the White House. Earlier, Imran said he wanted to stay at the Pakistan ambassador`s residence in Washington instead of the hotel to curb expenses.

British ambassador to US resigns amid Trump row

UK ambassador to the US Sir Kim Darroch has resigned amid row over leaked emails that criticized President Trump`s administration terming them `inept`. In his resignation letter, Sir Kim stated "The current situation is making it impossible for me to carry out my role as I would like." Earlier president Trump said that the US would not deal with Sir Kim.

New sanctions on Pakistan`s media

Pakistan`s government has imposed restrictions on country`s media on releasing interviews of politicians who have been prosecuted or sentenced. The government has barred the broadcast of three TV channels for their direct media coverage of imprisoned former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif`s daughter Maryam Nawaz`s press conference.

India to introduce death penalty for pedophiles

Indian central government has taken strong steps to stop sexual harassment of children. The central cabinet has approved the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (Amendment) Bill, 2019 on Wednesday. If this bill is passed, the maximum penalty for child abuse in India will be the death penalty.

Trump `disrespectful` to PM and UK: Hunt

British Foreign Secretary Jeremy Hunt said Donald Trump showed disrespect to the UK and prime minister Theresa May. This Tory leadership aspirant said this in a response of Trump`s outburst over leaked emails of UK ambassador to the US where US president called Sir Kim Darroch "a very stupid guy".

Two marines arrested for smuggling unauthorized immigrants across US

Two marines were arrested in California for helping to smuggle several unauthorized immigrants from Mexico. According to a local court document, both of them were doing this in exchange for money. On July 3, Marine Lance Cpls. Byron Law II and David Salazar-Quintero were arrested from California border.

PM Modi lauds India`s fighting spirit

After an unfortunate defeat of India in the first semi-final of World Cup 2019, country`s Prime Minister Narendra Modi wrote in social media "A disappointing result, but good to see Team India`s fighting spirit till the very end. India batted, bowled, fielded well throughout the tournament, of which we are very proud. Wins and losses are a part of life. Best wishes to the team for their future endeavors."
