India increases customs duty on US goods and other stories
Indian government has imposed additional customs duty on 28 US imported products including almonds, walnuts and pulses. The tariff will be implemented from today (Sunday) as Delhi has announced. The announcement has been given in retaliation to U.S. President Donald Trump’s decision to impose higher import tariffs on Indian aluminum and steel.
Zardari’s sister arrested in graft case
Faryal Talpur, sister of former President Asif Ali Zadari, was arrested by National Accountability Bureau in a graft case, days after the country’s leading anti-corruption body apprehended her brother on Monday.
Strong earthquake strikes New Zealand
A very strong earthquake registered as M7.2 hit Kermadec Islands in New Zealand on Saturday midnight. An immediate tsunami warning was announced after the earthquake but canceled later. 
India introduces ‘Shah Mango’ in market
A new variety of mango will soon hit Indian market named after newly appointed home minister, Amit Shah by popular mango grower Haji Kalimullah. Earlier, this farmer, honored with Padma Shri award, named another variety of mango after Narenda Modi, by being impressed by the Prime Minister’s personality. 
Hong Kong suspends extradition bill amid protest pressure
Hong Kong’s leader, Carrie Lam, has announced to suspend efforts to pass the controversial new extradition law after a week of mass protests. The controversial legislation that would allow suspects to be sent to mainland China has caused agitation among the autonomous region and demonstration took place as a result.  
8 Kenya police officers killed in bomb blast
Eight policemen were killed in a bomb blast near Kenya-Somali border. The explosion took place while the police van was passing the road near border. No group yet has claimed responsibility of the attack.
Congress plans to stop Trump selling arms to Saudi Arabia
Speaker of US Congress Nancy Pelosi said that Congress would block Donald Trump’s plan of selling weapons to Saudi Arabia. Congress has decided to take this step against the military aggression of Saudi Arabia on Yemen. 
Mamata urges doctors to join work after accepting demand
Chief minister Mamata Banerjee has urged the doctors to return to work as she accepted all valid demands of them. On a press conference held on Saturday evening, Mamata said that no strict action would be taken against the doctors.
