N Zealand recalls Christchurch victims in silence

A week after the deadly mosque attack, the Friday prayer was held again in the affected Christchurch mosques. New Zealand has set an example of solidarity with Muslims by broadcasting the prayers live. Country`s Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern joined thousands of mourners near the Al-Noor mosque, one of two places targeted in last Friday attack. Many women took part in it wearing a scarf on their head. Before the start of the Friday prayers, two minutes of silence was observed in memory of the deceased.

5 mosques vandalized in Central England

Windows of five mosques have been shattered in Birmingham. Counter-terrorism officers in central England are investigating the incident. The vandalism that carried out at different places on Thursday morning is being treated as linked. No motive has yet been established.

Nearly 100 die as ferry sinks in Tigris river

Nearly 100 people died after an overloaded ferry capsized in the Tigris River in Mosul in northern Iraq. Most of the dead are known as women and children. There were about 200 passengers on that ferry, said several international media. Civil Defense Agency of Mosul said most of the passengers could not swim.

Chemical factory explosion kills 44 in China

At least 44 people were killed and more than 90 were injured in an explosion at a chemical plant in Yancheng, eastern China. The blast happened at around 14:50 local time on Thursday. According to Xinhua, a total of 640 people were sent to the hospital. Some 32 are in a critical condition and 58 have severe injuries.

US urges India-Pakistan not to increase tensions

The US is concerned about the tensions between India and Pakistan, both countries with nuclear power. Trump administration fears that Pakistan would not take adequate action against Jaish-e-Mohammed militants. And the US warns that if Pakistan fails to take effective measures against terrorism, it will create extreme complications for Islamabad. On Wednesday (March 20th) one of the senior US administration officials told this to the reporters.
