Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman considered the slain Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi as a dangerous Islamist and he shared his opinion to the US. The media report said the prince had told this to the US officials in a phone call made at the White House after Khashoggi`s disappearance and before Saudi Arabia admitted killing him.
The Washington Post reported that Saudi Prince made this phone call to US President Donald Trump`s son-in-law and his Senior Advisor Jared Kushner and US National Security Advisor John Bolton. Prince Salman told these two top US officials that Khashoggi was a member of Islamist organization named Muslim Brotherhood.
The report said that the conversation was made on 9 October a week after Khashoggi went missing. In the meantime, Prince Salman urged to continue the US-Saudi relationship. Saudi Arabia, however, has denied the reports.
Meanwhile, in a statement, Khashoggi`s family rejected the claim of his involvement with the Muslim Brotherhood. They said Khashoggi himself rejected such claim several times in recent years. It is said in the statement that Jamal Khashoggi was not dangerous at all.
Jamal Khashoggi, a Saudi national and a well-known critic of his home country`s ruler, went missing after entering Saudi consulate in Istanbul on 2 October. Although his body has not yet been found but Turkey, the US and Saudi Arabia confirmed that he was killed immediately after entering the consulate. However, from the very beginning, Riyadh has denied any royal involvement in this case.
