At least 11 people have been killed as a lone gunman opened fire at a synagogue in the US city of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Six more people including four police officers were injured in the attack, among them two are in critical condition. The attack was carried out on Saturday local time at Squirrel Hill`s `Tree of Life` synagogue, International media said.
Meanwhile, quoting central law enforcement agencies, US media said that suspected attacker Robert Bowers (46) was arrested and is currently being treated in police custody.
In search, it has been found that Robert Bowers has previous history of verbally assaulting Jews and targeting the community in social media. US media reported that Robert Bowers has been sued for 29 charges for killing 11 people.
On the other hand, President Donald Trump referred this attack as "terrible thing". He described the gunman as a maniac and suggested the US should stiffen up the laws of the death penalty by saying "These people should pay the ultimate price."
