President Donald Trump has endorsed Japan as a "crucial ally" and warned adversaries not to underestimate America`s resolve as he opened a grueling and first significant trip to Asia. He arrived in Japan on Sunday.
Trump arrived at Yokota Air Base on the outskirts of Tokyo and was welcomed by cheering service members. Trump then wore a bomber jacket for a speech in which he lauded American firepower and the alliance between the United States and Japan.
"Japan is a treasured partner and crucial ally of the United States and today we thank them for welcoming us and for decades of an excellent bond between our two nations," he said, speaking in front of an American flag inside an airplane hangar.
