Trump-Kim sign `historic agreement`


US President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un signed a `historic agreement`. After the two-and-a-half-hour meeting at the five-star Capella Hotel on the island of Sentosa, Singapore. They signed the agreement in front of the high-level officials and journalists of both the countries. However, the contents of the agreement could not be confirmed.

The US President Donald Trump thanked the North Korean leader and all North Korean officials who have been contributing to the arrangement of the meeting at the signing ceremony. Trump said after the deal their relation with North Korea will be completely different. He said a special bond has been created with the North Korean leader and said he was absolutely willing to invite him to the White House.

On the other hand, Kim Jong-un specially thanked Trump for showing the sincerity of organizing the meeting. He also thanked other US officials and said, "We`ve decided to leave the past behind. The world will see major changes."

Meanwhile, in a joint statement signed by Trump and Kim, North Korea has committed to working towards complete denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula. And President Trump committed to providing security guarantees to North Korea in retun.

In a Tweet post, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has referred Trump and Kim`s joint statement as the start of a new relationship.

Earlier, the much anticipated top-level meeting of the two countries started today (Tuesday) at 9 am local time (7 am of Bangladesh time). After the meeting, Trump and Kim came out of the hotel lawn and interacted with top officials of their respective countries, and both returned to the hotel room.

After half an hour, Donald Trump and Kim Jong-un signed the agreement.
