North Korean leader Kim Jong-un has arrived in Singapore on Sunday, where he will hold a meeting with US President Donald Trump on Tuesday. Foreign Affairs Minister of Singapore, Vivian Balakrishnan, has been in charge of receiving him at the airport.
"Welcomed Chairman Kim Jong Un, who has just arrived in Singapore.," Balakrishnan posted on Twitter, with a picture of him shaking Kim`s hand.
The goal of the United States at this summit is to achieve a "complete, verifiable and irreversible denuclearization" on the Korean peninsula that would make the hermetic and impoverished Asian country "stronger" and "integrated into the community of nations."
Trump is scheduled to arrive in the afternoon (local time). He has already left the Canadian town of Charevoix, where he has participated in the summit of the G-7.
