North Korean leader Kim Jong-un has reiterated that he is committed to `complete` a scheduled meeting with the US President Donald Trump on the denuclearization of the Korean peninsula. South Korean President Moon Jae-in said this at a press conference on Sunday.
On the other hand, Trump indicated that preparations for the June 12 summit are going on, although he had earlier announced to cancel the meeting.
Meanwhile, North Korean leader Kim and South Korean President Moon Jae-in held a sudden meeting on Saturday in Panmunjeom, a de facto border village of North Korea on Saturday.
In Seoul`s press conference, President Moon said that he and Kim agreed on Saturday`s meeting that the North Korea and the United States summit needed to be held.
Panmunjeom`s meeting created the latest dramatic turn after the week-long diplomatic uprising that took place over the United States and North Korea`s unprecedented summit meeting. The meeting of Panmunjeom strongly suggests that Korean leaders are sincerely trying to keep the possibility of Kim-Trump meeting.
North Korea`s state news agency KCNA has said that Kim has expressed his steady will like before over his meeting with President Trump.
