Washington has imposed fresh sanctions on three Iranian companies and six Iranian citizens as part of the implementation of US hostile policy against Tehran.
The U.S. Treasury imposed sanctions on these institutions and individuals on the pretext of having relations with Iran`s elite military force Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC).
This ban was imposed just two days after the US President Donald Trump announced the withdrawal of the landmark 2015 nuclear deal with Iran.
The US Ministry of Finance has earlier banned Iranians and many foreign citizens and companies for the sake of having relations with the IRGC. Recently, Trump insisted Washington on taking more stringent actions against the IRGC.
The US Treasury Secretary said in a statement that "The Iranian regime and its central bank have abused access to entities in the UAE to acquire US dollars to fund the (IRGC`s) malign activities, including to fund and arm its regional proxy groups." He also added, "We are intent on cutting off IRGC revenue streams wherever their source and whatever their destination."
The United States is taking action against the IRGC at the time when this force is playing a key role in eliminating terrorism spreading in the Middle East.
