Russia blames UK for spreading false news
Russia has accused Britain of spreading baseless and fabricated news over spy poisoning. Moscow`s UN ambassador Vasily Nebenzia said this at a meeting of the United Nations Security Council yesterday. At that time, he also said that Britain is playing with fire and warned that they will have to provide reparation for this harassment.
Moscow called the special meeting of the Security Council in New York to discuss the attack. Mr. Nebenzia said that the accusations were horrific and unsubstantiated and claimed that the UK is spreading propaganda war against Russia. He also said Britain should have made better stories.
A month ago, an attempt was made to kill a Russian double agent Sergei Skripal and his daughter using a military-quality nerve gas in Britain. At that time Britain had blamed Russia for this incident.
The Russian ambassador told to the Security Council that the chemical that was used to kill Sergei Skripal was not only made in Russia but also in other countries. In his statement to the 15-member council, Mr. Nebenzia questioned why Russia would eliminate someone using a dangerous and highly public method.
Meanwhile, Skripal`s daughter Yulia is slowly recovering but Skripal is still in a critical condition. Both of them were found unconscious on a park bench in the quiet city of Salisbury on 4 March.
Sergei Skripal used to divulge the country`s information to the United Kingdom. Since the attempt to murder him, a diplomatic war has started between Russia and the Western world.
