The unknown side of BNP Secretary General

According to reliable sources, Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir was born in an anti-liberation force`s family in Thakurgaon, Dinajpur in 1948. His father Mirza Ruhul Ameen was a Member of Parliament during the Pakistani nominated military dictator Zia’s rule.

His uncle Mirza Golam Hafiz was also a minister and then the speaker during Khaleda’s rule. Fakhrul had cooperated Pakistani occupation forces during the Great Liberation War against Bangladesh, but he did not put his name as `Rajakar` (Collaborator) in the list.

After the Liberation War, a good number of radical Islamist Shibir had taken shelter in the progressive forces in order to save themselves. Fakhrul is one of them. From the outer side, Fakhrul is well behaved, polite and simple, but he is a congenital anti-liberation forces member.

A blue-eyed boy of Pakistani ISI. Fakhrul had handled very smoothly to smuggle all illegal things including gold and dollars from Dhaka to Riyadh during the BNP-Jammat government, led by Prime Minister Khaleda Zia, and her family members at the fag end of her tenure in 2006 while Fakhrul was the state minister of civil aviation.

Fakhrul, a trusted boy of Tarique and Khaleda Zia did not take any benefits or share from the big corruption of the ministry. Fakhrul had handed over all the money of corruption to Tarique and company.

Fakhrul was the first person to give a warm, mammoth reception with hundreds of thousands of people, hundreds of horses, elephants, motorcycle, car, and all other musical equipment to Tarique Rahman in Thakurgaon and Dinajpur.

Tarique, the then de facto prime minister had started his royal journey to all districts in order to showdown his power and strength.

Finally, with the advice of ISI, he set aside all other senior or experienced leaders of BNP, Fakhrul was selected as the Secretary-General of the party.
