Although Krishak Sramik Janata League president Abdul Kader Siddique is not directly involved in any of the national unity or the United Front, he might be present in the meeting.
BNP, who has recently got clearance from its alliance Jamaat, is also expected to attend the rally. It has been reported that BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir will represent his party BNP in that rally. Moreover, Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) led by Colonel (retd) Oli Ahmed, Bangladesh Kalyan Party Chairman Major General (Retd) Syed Muhammad Ibrahim, Bangladesh Jatiya Party leader Andaleeve Rahman are expected to attend the rally.
HM Ershad’s Jatiya Party representative may attend the rally as a surprise. Several leaders of the national unity confirmed this possibility.
Reliable sources confirmed, on Monday, Jatiya Party Co-Chairman GM Quader held talks with the leaders of the national unity. GM Quader said that he would discuss this matter with party chairman HM Ershad.
Experts said the presence of Jatiya Party in the national unity rally will have great importance. Like HM Ershad, Jatiya Party also changes its direction frequently. It seeks for opportunity only and privilege. Therefore, if there is a chance of getting more benefits in the national unity, it will join them. The election schedule will be announced at the end of the next month. So, it would be clear then what Jatiya Party decides in the end.
