BNP to boycott next parliamentary election too?
Will BNP advance on the way to boycott the upcoming parliament election after the Khulna city election? Many leaders of the BNP gave such indication. They want to say that Awami League has made such mechanisms that winning in the election is not only difficult but impossible. BNP leaders said, "The ruling Awami League has invented the unprecedented and innovative model to artifice in the election. The model in which the election will be apparently fair, unbiased, but in such a way that only the Awami League will win." A BNP leader said, "We are certain that they have rigged in Khulna City election, but we could not catch the rigging." Those who are unwilling to go to the polls without the non-partisan and neutral caretaker government in the BNP have now become vocal. They are seeking the announcement such as "there is no election under the present government" from the party`s secretary general. However, BNP secretary general is not yet ready to take the final decision. Rather, he wants to take counter strategy against the government`s one. But the number of people who are in favor of participating in the next general election is gradually decreasing.
A large part of the BNP does not agree to participate in the upcoming parliamentary election without meeting their three-point demands. These three demands are- 1. The resignation of the present Prime Minister and the formation of a supportive government under the leadership of a non-partisan person; 2. Begum Khaleda Zia`s release; 3 Reorganization of the Election Commission.

In contrast, several senior leaders, including BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, were in the favor of the election. The BNP secretary general would always say, "The situation will change whether BNP will participate in the election or not. People will come to the voting center like torrent and vote for BNP. In such situation if they try to artifice again, it will cause mass uprising." After the Cumilla city elections, Fakhrul`s team became heavy. But after the Khulna election, the number of people standing in favor of boycotting the election is getting stronger. Gayeshwar Chandra Roy is one of the main people in the favor of boycotting the election. After the results of Khulna, he said, "I said earlier that the Awami League would choose such a way that we cannot even understand what is going on." Not just Gayeshwar, leaders who do not agree to participate in any election under Sheikh Hasina include Nazrul Islam Khan, Amir Khasru Mahmud.

After the Khulna city poll the three-point demand is coming forward. The over excited hardliners demand to boycott the Gazipur election as well. But Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, Barrister Moudud Ahmed and Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain are not ready to accept the defeat yet. They want to see Gazipur as the last test. If they lose in Gazipur, will BNP follow the path of 2014? Will the 11th parliamentary election be held without BNP? Because both Awami League president Sheikh Hasina and general secretary Obaidul Quader have already said that Awami League will not take any initiative to bring BNP to the polls.
