Comedy film `Austin Powers` actor Verne Troyer who is best known for his character Mini-Me has suddenly passed away yesterday. An update from his Twitter account confirmed his death on Saturday.
It stated, "It is with great sadness and incredibly heavy hearts to write that Verne passed away today. Verne was an extremely caring individual. He wanted to make everyone smile, be happy, and laugh," a statement posted to his social media said. "Anybody in need, he would help to any extent possible. Verne hoped he made a positive change with the platform he had and worked towards spreading that message every day."
According to the statement from his family, Troyer died on Saturday after being admitted to the hospital a few days ago, where he was treated for his problems with alcohol. The police claimed that he had attempted suicide.
Apart from playing Mini-Me role, he also played Griphook role in Harry Potter film, made regular appearances on Celebrity Juice and acted in Keith Lemon’s feature film, Keith Lemon: The Film.
Born in Michigan and graduated from the Institute of Centerville, Troyer was educated in the Amish tradition. He got married in 2004 with the model Genevieve Gallen, although the marriage was annulled only a day later. Both would later deny the existence of such a link.
It was not the last of the controversies that surrounded his life, because in 2008 a sex video was leaked in which the actor appeared with an ex-partner, Rane Shrider, responsible for the filtration.
The actor sued the media that wanted to make the video public. His problems with alcohol were also a constant in his life, until a few days ago he had to be admitted after an incident at home. He himself acknowledged that he was under treatment and was battling depression.
