In order to create opportunities for the country`s youths, Tk 100 crore has been allocated in this year’s budget. Finance minister AHM Mustafa Kamal said this today (Thursday) in the proposed budget speech of the 2019-20 fiscal year. The size of the original budget has been estimated to be Tk 523,190 crore.
The finance minister said, "The government has taken the issue of presence of huge efficient manpower in the labor market and retrenchment of the demand of the workers because of the introduction of modern technology very seriously and took various steps to solve it. The government has started a three-year program to modernize the business and investment environment, strengthen the safety of laborers, and to improve the law and order to increase the pace of activity in the industrial sector."
Giving assurance on ending the unemployment condition by 2030 through creating employment opportunities for three crore people, Mustafa Kamal said, "In order to engage the unemployed youths in employment and self-employment, skill-based training is being given in different sectors through 111 institutional training centers and 498 upazila level training centers. Employment opportunities will be created in the economic zones. In order to create all types of business initiatives (start-up) among the youths, Tk 100 crore will be allocated in the budget for the current fiscal year.
