The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) witnessed downward trends in early hours of trading on Thursday as investors were cautious on booking profit.
After first one hour of trading, the key index of the country’s major bourse declined 16.29 points while the Selective Category Index of port city bourse lost 32.75 points.
DSEX, the prime index of the DSE went down by 16.29 points or 0.26 percent to stand at 6,063.03 at 11:51 am.
The two other indices also saw negative trend till then. The DS30 index, comprising blue chips also shed over 9.01 points or 0.41 percent to stand at 2,169.04.
The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) also lost 6.76 points or 0.50 percent to reach at 1,343.50.
Turnover, the crucial indicator of the market, stands at Tk 2086.33 million on the DSE, riding on Shahjalal Islami Bank and Uttara Bank.
Shahjalal Islami Bank Ltd dominated the turnover chart with shares worth Tk 176.33 million changing hands till then, closely followed by Uttara Bank, Jamuna Bank and National Bank.
Of the issues traded till then, 86 advanced, 154 declined and 58 issues remained unchanged.
The port city bourse, the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE), also saw positive trend till then with it is Selective Category Index – CSCX – losing 32.75 points to stand at 11,365.64 also at 11:49 am.
Of the issues traded till then, 39 gained, 97 declined and 19 remained unchanged with a turnover value of Tk 65.86 million.
