Veteran journalist Muhammad Jahangir passed away early today. He breathed his last at Asgar Ali Hospital in the city at 12:40 am after being in life support for two days. This noted media personality was suffering from cancer for a long time.
Muhammad Jahangir`s first namaj-e-janaza will be held at 11 am at the National Press Club. He will be buried at Mirpur Martyred Intellectual graveyard after second namaj-e-janaza which will be held at Chamelibagh Jame Masjid.
Jahangir, a younger brother of Nobel Laureate Prof Muhammad Yunus, started journalism in the print media in the early 1970`s. Later he joined the electronic media. He was also involved in cultural circles. He was a teacher of media and communication at two universities in Dhaka.
