The temporary expulsion order on former BCL central committee member Zarin Dia will be lifted. While visiting physically unstable Dia at capital`s Square Hospital, BCL president and general secretary have assured her about this.
Former BCL social service secretary Rana Hamid confirmed the news. He told that the president-general secretary went to meet Dia at night. They inquired about her overall treatment. Dia’s friends sought the withdrawal of Dia`s expulsion to the president and general secretary that time.
In response to them, BCL president and general secretary said, since Zarin Dia has realized her mistake, the expulsion will be withdrawn. Chhatra League general secretary Golam Rabbani told reporters, "Dia realized her mistake. She apologized for her Facebook post. We will reconsider her expulsion."
It is to be noted that a Facebook status posted by Zarin Dia after being deprived of the post in BCL full committee recently went viral. She stated many offensive remarks on that. Although she apologized for her activity later.
BCL expelled her from the organization on 20 May for her affiliation with the assault that took place at Dhaka University`s Madhur Canteen on 13 May. Dia even got injured in that incident. She attempted to commit suicide taking sleeping pills in her residence on 20 May.
While recovering, Zarin Dia suddenly faced a cerebral attack on last noon (Wednesday) that left her paralyzed. She is currently undergoing treatment at Square Hospitals.
