Proposal to increase Eid holiday to six days

The planning is going on to extend the Eid holiday to six days. It has been learned that this plan has been taken to reduce the sufferings of people heading towards their hometowns caused by heavy traffic during Eid time. The Ministry of Public Administration has been making a proposal regarding this. This proposal may be submitted in the cabinet meeting. At the same time, the schedule of Ramadan will be determined in the cabinet meeting on April 29. This year the office time will be determined from 9 am to 3 pm during the month long fast.

It is to be noted that, virtually the offices lose their rush after the 27th Ramadan. Everyone goes on vacation. A short holiday brings three types of problems for the city dwellers. One is endless sufferings. Secondly, government officials are hardly found in their respective offices after the Eid holiday. So, much progress in the official works after Eid is observed. Thirdly, the number of road accidents increases because of excessive pressure.

On this ground if the number of holidays increases, then people can move gradually. As a result, there will be less pressure on roads and railways and this will reduce sufferings.

Government officials and employees have been demanding to increase Eid holidays for a long time. From that point of view, a proposal has been designed to increase the Eid holidays this year, sources confirmed.
