RMG workers continue protest for 6th consecutive day

The demonstrations of the readymade garment workers continue for the sixth consecutive day in city’s different parts demanding the cancellation of ‘discriminatory wage board’.

A tripartite committee, headed by Afroza, has already been formed to find the reasons behind the labor unrest and resolve this issue.

The garment workers of at Mirpur-1, Shewrapara, Kazipara and Ansar Camp area in Kalyanpur put up a barricade in the nearby streets that caused a cease to vehicular movement.

Besides, workers of Gazipur tried to put up a barricade in the Dhaka-Gazipur highway but the law enforcing agency dispersed them by charging baton.

It has been reported that centering the demonstrations of the RMG workers, an anonymous third party is spreading rumors to instigate the movement. The protesters are unwilling to give time to the government as if they are more interested in continuing this movement rather than meeting their demand of minimizing wag gap.
