Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has paid homage to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on the occasion of the Homecoming Day of this great leader.
PM Hasina paid tribute by placing wreath at the portrait of Bangabandhu at Dhanmondi 32 this morning (Thursday). Then she paid homage with Awami League leaders and activists as the party’s President. After that, the prime minister stood in solemn silence for some time as a mark of profound respect to the memory of Bangabandhu.
Then the members of the new cabinet and leaders of Awami League, the leaders of Awami League`s associate bodies laid wreaths at the portrait of Bangabandhu. Later, people of all walks paid tribute to the portrait of Bangabandhu, the architect of independence.
Earlier, party leaders and activists raised party and national flag at the party`s central office, Bangabandhu Bhaban and the party office in the whole country at around 6:30 am.
As part of the day`s program, a meeting will be held in the chairmanship of Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at the auditorium of Krishibid Institute in the capital at 3 pm.
