Those unsuccessful in petition

 

A total of 3,665 nomination aspirants submitted their nomination papers for the 11th parliamentary election. After verification, 786 nomination forms were rejected. As a result, the number of legitimate candidates stands at 2,779. From December 3 to 5, those who were rejected filed appeals to get their candidacy back. 534 aspirants filed appeals among 786 aspirants whose nomination papers were rejected. The appeal hearing began from Thursday. Each day, from December 6 to 8, the hearing will begin at 10 am on the eleventh floor of the EC’s headquarters.

Those who have been unsuccessful in their petition to the Election Commission are as follows:

9) Rangamati-299: Amar Kumar Dey

12) Dinajpur-3: Mokarram Hossain

13) Thakurgaon-3: SM Khalilur Rahman

Those who failed to get clearance for the polls still can appeal to the High Court. A candidate’s candidature will be finalized there after the hearing.
