Awami League nomination is almost final for the eleventh parliamentary election. But the nomination aspirants are still continuing the lobbying for the nomination. Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is speaking with these people with endless patience and convincing them well. She has to make them happy with various examples. The Prime Minister has been surrounded by numerous requests for the nomination.
The Prime Minister has reportedly become restless at Jatiya Party and United front leaders’ requests alongside with AL leaders’ requests. Bikalpa Dhara President Prof Badruddoza Chowdhury, secretary-general Major (retd) Abdul Mannan and joint secretary general Mahi B Chowdhury went to Ganabhaban last (Tuesday) night on behalf of United Front. It is learned that they went to Ganabhaban to lobby for sharing the seats. These three United Front leaders wanted 15 seats for United Front in the upcoming election. But according to the Awami League survey, United Front should not get more than 5 to 7 seats. Yet the Prime Minister welcomed them and explained the importance of this election.
On the same night, several leaders of Jatiya Party led by party`s co-chairman GM Quader met with the Prime Minister at Ganabhaban. They have demanded the minimum 40 seats to the Prime Minister. But according to the latest survey of Awami League, it has been learned that Jatiya Party has no possibility of winning in 40 seats. But Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has also heard the Jatiya Party leaders` lobby and made them realize about the importance of forming the government and winning the election.
Not only the political people are lobbying for the nomination, the PM is also patiently listening to those who are not related to politics. Personal intimacy with the Prime Minister encourages them for lobbying. As a part of this, recently the wife of a joint general secretary of Awami League met the Prime Minister and requested to PM for her husband`s nomination.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been paying attention to all lobbying. With all the pressure, she is calmly speaking to everyone, and handling all the dissatisfaction related to the nomination and seat sharing. The political observers consider such skill as another unique example of the Prime Minister`s smart leadership.
