PM’s two kins won’t be in election

Syed Ashraf, son of national leader and Bangabandhu`s close associate Syed Nazrul Islam, and Tanjim Ahmad Sohel Taj, son of country`s first prime minister Tajuddin Ahmed, are two of the most loyal leaders and are like younger brothers to Prime Minister and Awami League President Sheikh Hasina. But, unfortunately, they will be absent from this year’s election.

Sohel Taj was elected from the Gazipur-4 constituency in the past. In his absence, his sister Simeen Hussain Rimi will contest from this constituency.

Syed Ashraf, who is a trusted soldier of AL will also remain absent in the election field like Sohel Taj as he is physically ill and currently under treatment in Bangkok. However, the prime minister emotionally said that she would wait for the last moment for Ashraf. But the fact is that he is not in the condition of signing the nomination paper.

The 11th parliamentary election is likely to be the last election of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Close sources to the prime minister told that she felt deeply sorry for not getting her two loyal leaders beside her when it is her last election.

The two leaders were not just close to the prime minister, they stood beside AL President Sheikh Hasina in difficult times and proved their loyalty to the party.
