BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul said all the responsibilities regarding whether the political situation in the country will be peaceful and stable are in the hand of the government.
He said this at a press briefing that took place at Dr. Kamal Hossain’s residence after a three-hour dialogue between the leaders of Jatiya Oikya Front and Sheikh Hasina–led 14-party alliance at Ganabhaban.
Dr. Kamal Hossain said, ‘We want a solution to the current political crisis through discussions and the ball is now in the government’s court.’
Although Dr. Kamal Hossain is the top leader of Jatiya Oikya Front, its spokesperson Mirza Fakhrul is often seen talking the most.
When the reporters asked him whether he is satisfied with the dialogue, he said, ‘I don’t want to discuss this matter right now. We’ll express it later with people.’
Referring to the release of BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia, Fakhrul said, ‘We talked about this very seriously as she is entitled to get bail legally.’
He believes dialogue is possible to continue despite the Election Commission announces the election schedule.
