Bangladesh T20 captain Shakib Al-Hasan distributed relief materials among the flood-affected people of Ghior Upazila of the district on Monday afternoon.
Shakib, also the world’s number one all-rounder distributed rice, puffed rice (Chira), pulse, sugar, soap, oral saline, oil, biscuits, flour, and salt on behalf of Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) at Ghior DN Pilot High School field among 2000-flood affected people of the area.
Shakib said he took part in this relief distribution work as part of his social responsibilities. He said every person of our country should stand beside every helpless people.
He said Bangladesh is standing beside Rohingyas who have taken shelter in Bangladesh amid persecution by Myanmar security forces in Rakhine state.
Every conscientious person in the world should stand beside Rohingyas, he further said.
Former cricketer and incumbent BCB director, local lawmaker Naymur Rahman Durjoy, district Awami League leaders and others were also present at the distribution program.
