Road Transport and Bridges Minister and Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader said BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia should not refuse Combined Military Hospital (CMH) if she wants medical treatment. The minister believed it would be an unwise move from the BNP chairperson to refuse another chance.
He said this on Wednesday around 11 am while talking to journalists during a visit to Gabtoli bus terminal to ensure a smooth journey of the home-bound people during the Eid-ul-Fitr vacation.
He said, ‘CMH is the best hospital in the country. Where can you get better treatment than CMH? She (Khaleda) won’t take treatment at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU), so we offered her CMH.’
The minister further said, ‘She’s a chairperson of a big political party and a former prime minister, so we’ve offered her to take treatment from the best place of the country. Now, if she wants medical treatment, she shouldn’t refuse CMH.’
Following Khaleda’s refusal to go to BSMMU for medical tests, the government has offered her CMH services.
