The listed drug trader and Teknaf municipality ward councilor Ekramul Huq was killed in a gunfight with RAB-7 members in Noakhalipara area of Teknaf. This incident occurred yesterday (Saturday). RAB officials said that Ekramul was a listed drug dealer of Ministry of Home Affairs and the Department of Narcotics Control.

RAB-7 commander Lieutenant Colonel Miftah Uddin Ahmed said Ekramul`s body was found on the spot after a gunfight with drug dealers last night. The councilor was known as the `Top godfather of Yaba`. There are many lawsuits against him. He is the former president of Teknaf Upazila Jubo League.
Meanwhile, at least 11 people have been killed in 11 districts in gunfights with RAB and police in the ongoing anti-drug drive. At the instruction of the Prime Minister, the law enforcers started conducting anti-drug operations. In this context, at least 74 people were killed since 19 May. The law enforcers said they were involved in buying and selling drugs.
