The initiative of Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) to drive against unfit vehicles in the capital is set to begin on Monday, confirmed BRTA secretary Shawkat Ali.
He said, ‘BRTA began the drive at Manik Mia Avenue around 9 am. The drives will be conducted against the unfit vehicles and to raise awareness among the people of the city about road safety.’
During the drive, the unfit vehicles will be fined by the mobile court in the presence of BRTA officials.
Meanwhile, Road, Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader visited the spot at Manik Mia Avenue.
