On 22 April a delegation team led by Awami League general secretary Obaidul Quader will go to India. The next day, they will have a meeting with representatives of India. That delegation team will return home on April 24th.
After the return of Awami League delegation team, a delegation of BNP led by BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir will go to India in the first week of May.
Meanwhile, PM Sheikh Hasina is currently in Saudi Arabia on a state visit. After observing the military exercises of Saudi alliance there, the Prime Minister will leave for London today (Monday). The Prime Minister will meet with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the sideline of the Commonwealth Conference in London. They will discuss over various issues including the upcoming election of Bangladesh.
India is eager to ensure a participatory election in Bangladesh. However, India wants the elections under the current government, and according to the current constitution of Bangladesh. That is why an initiative has been taken to bring the two parties to an agreement. Political observers think that the delegation teams of both parties are going to India for the sake of compromise.
