Law Minister Anisul Huq stated today that Myanmar has not changed its stance on the Rohingya issue and so, the United Nations (UN) will put more pressure on Myanmar to repatriate the forcibly displaced Rohingyas.
The Law Minister held a meeting today with the UN Special Adviser on the Prevention of Genocide Adama Dieng. Following the meeting, he held a press conference where he made the remarks.
Anisul Huq said that the UN representative assured him of helping on the Rohingya issue. He also appreciated the gesture of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for sheltering the huge number of Rohingyas who fled attack of the Buddhist mobs and Myanmar security forces in Rakhine State.
He said, `We want a peaceful solution to the issue.`
