Chief pilot of the crashed US-Bangla Airlines flight Abid Sultan has died today in Nepal. He was severely injured and was under medical treatment in the Norvic International Hospital. General Manager of Public relations branch of the US-Bangla, Kamrul Islam confirmed the death of the pilot. According to the information available so far, he died on Tuesday morning.
Meanwhile, Nepal has formed a six-member investigation commission to find the cause of the plane crash. Nepal Government has taken the decision at a ministerial-level meeting in the presence of the Prime Minister of Nepal. The commission will work under the leadership of former secretary Yagga Prasad Gautam.
An audio file of the conversation of the pilot and the control room has spread on YouTube. Counter-statements are coming from both US-Bangla Airlines and Tribhuvan International Airport authority. US-Bangla Airlines is blaming the Air Traffic Control (ATC) of Kathmandu Airport for this tragic incident.
By analyzing the last four minutes of the pilot`s conversation with the ATC, other pilots have said that the ATC`s flawed guidance has caused the cockpit of the plane to be confused. Because of their mistake, such a terrible accident took place.
