Police screened a house in Ghop Central Road area of the district town of Jessore on early Monday suspecting it a militant refuge, reported UNB.

Officer-in-charge of Kotwali Police Station ATM Ajmal Huda said they were tipped off by an anonymous source that the militants are tarrying in the house.

At around 2 am in the morning, a team of police officers isolated the house.

The anti-terrorist operation will begin as soon as the SWAT team of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) reaches the spot, added OC.

Mashiur Rahman, a local of Kushtia who is also an employee of a herbal company rented the house, said house owner Haider Ali.

Additional superintendent of police Naimur Rahman told correspondents that as per information received from SWAT, the house had been quarantined.

They (SWAT) suspected that the militants are staying in the house and police are blocking people, including reporters, from entering the area, he added.

Meanwhile, residents of seven more flats, located inside the boundary of the cordoned house, have been evacuated safely, said the OC, adding that only the family of Khadiza, sister of neo-JMB leader Marjan, remained besieged in the house.
